Give a brief description of the story.
This is the first in a trilogy about the Barker triplets. Each one focuses on a different sport or element of athletics.
OFFSIDE is about Billie-Jo, who was a star women’s hockey player and had to move home. When she returns, and wants to play on the local Friday night men’s hockey league, she causes quite a stir!
The town is divided, but surprisingly, it’s Logan Forest–an old flame, and the guy who broke Billie-Jo’s heart–who supports her decision to play with the guys.
Against their better judgment, they begin to rekindle their relationship. Sparks fly, and we get to see the set-up for the other two sisters as well.
What did you think the author did particularly well?
Juliana really knows the world of hockey, and she did a great job of creating three separate females as the triplets.
What was your favorite thing about the story?
I loved reading about a female athlete who holds her own, and I particularly love old flame stories.
Fans of sports romances (books, TV, or movies) might enjoy this story.
