Give a brief description of the story.
Set in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, in the wintry world of Copper Country, this is a sexy contemporary romance about a young woman who suffers from seasonal affectiveness disorder (which has to be a big bummer in an area that gets twenty feet of snow a year). She’s battling a semi-serious depression, but she loves living in the U.P.–and always has, ever since she visited it with her now-deceased father.
She remembers hearing about the legendary Hermit who lived in the mountains…and no one is more surprised than Deni when her handsome boss at the architecture firm where she works turns out to be the very person about whom the legend is told.
Sawyer Beck isn’t really a hermit, but he doesn’t mind people leaving him alone…until he meets Deni, who really captures his heart.
What did you think the author did particularly well?
Mara writes very “real”–she gives attention to details that are often lost in fast-paced stories, but that build true layers to the world.
What was your favorite thing about the story?
I love the setting of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. A small town feel in an unusual location.
Fans of Virgin River and other small town romances might enjoy this story.
